Yes, you can be a recipient of Medicaid while legally using medical cannabis with a valid doctor’s certificate. Medicaid eligibility is based on income and other criteria, and legally obtaining medical marijuana under state law does not automatically disqualify you from receiving Medicaid benefits.   However, it is important to understand the limitations regarding coverage and federal law: No Coverage for Costs:  Because marijuana is still illegal under federal law, Medicaid—a federal-state program—will not pay for medical marijuana products, including oils, edibles, or cannabis flower. No Cost for Cards:  Medicaid will not cover the cost of obtaining a medical marijuana card or doctor certification fees. Exceptions (FDA-Approved):  Medicaid may cover FDA-approved cannabinoid-based medications, such as Dronabinol (for nausea/appetite) or Epidiolex (for seizures), but not raw or dispensary-sold cannabis. State-Level Legality:  While Medicaid will not pay for it, ...

CPS Acknowledges Request and Delays Persist

1. CPS acknowledged your legal right They didn’t deny your request. They explicitly said: “Your CPS record is ready.” 👉 That’s important — it means the file exists and is releasable. 2. They offered two standard release options In-person pickup (with ID/signature) Certified mail (with signature) This is normal procedure, and you responded appropriately by choosing certified mail. 3. Something went wrong after that point There are a few likely possibilities: The file was never actually mailed The file was not fully prepared/copied yet There is internal delay, backlog, or disorganization The worker handling your case is unresponsive or unavailable. Your Follow-up Suggests The post office never received anything More than 30 days have passed The worker is now  not responding or available 4. The Key Is Not Request it’s Accountability At This Stage, The Problem Is Failure to deliver after stating it was ready Lack of communication Missed commitments (calls...

Formal Complaint Example

I am writing to provide an update and to formally submit a complaint regarding my ongoing involvement with CPS. Previously, I was informed that while my case is in appeal status, your office would not be able to assist. However, I would like to bring forward developments that I believe are important for your office to be aware of. Despite the appeal status, CPS continues to be directly involved in my case through ongoing, in-person visitation, which has been taking place for several months. I also want to raise a concern regarding service consistency. Last year, while publicly reported statements were made indicating that visitation and service obligations were being met, I personally experienced extended periods where my visits were not being scheduled. This created a significant gap between what was being reported and what I was directly experiencing in my case. Additionally, I formally requested a complete copy of my CPS case file on October 16, 2025. I was later informed that my re...

Complaint Regarding CPS – Patrick County, Piedmont Sector

Dear Ombudsman, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding CPS in Patrick County, Virginia, in the Piedmont Sector. CPS continues to be directly involved, supervising in‑person visitation, despite my case being in appeal status. Additionally, CPS confirmed that my case records were ready, but I have not received them. My attempts to follow up have been met with a lack of response. I have attached all relevant documents and a timeline of my attempts to obtain the records and schedule visits for your review. Thank you for your time and consideration. I would appreciate any guidance or action your office can provide regarding this matter. Sincerely, Amira Badarin 336‑939‑5329 210 Patrick Ave Stuart, VA 24171 amiraibadarin1@gmail.com

Despite the appeal status, CPS continues to be directly involved in my case through supervised ongoing, in-person visitation, which has been taking place for several months. Update on The Jane Doe Files

Parent: This is a follow-up to my formal request dated October 16 2025, for a complete copy of my CPS case file, including all diagnoses, reports, notes, and all internal and external communications related to my case. To date, I have not received the requested records or a timeline for their release. I have been informed I have a legal right to these documents. Please provide confirmation of when the full case file will be released. If the records cannot be provided promptly, please state the reason for the delay in writing. Thank you. CPS: Your CPS record is ready, please advise if you will be picking up your record in person at our agency (photo id and signature required) or if you would prefer it be mailed certified to you (signature required). If you are picking up your record in person, then please provide the date you plan to do so. Parent: Thank you for your response. Certified mail will be fine. PHASES OF LIGHT CHECKLIST

1. PURPOSE (Why this matters) Define the petition goal (basic dignity) Define your personal goal (access to hygiene) Keep both goals separate and clear Remind yourself: real impact > not pressure 2. PETITION (Awareness & Action) Finalize the message (simple and clear) Make sure the purpose is easy to understand Share the petition (one clear ask at a time) Track responses or engagement Stay consistent, not forceful 3. PERSONAL ACCESS (Needs & Stability) List hygiene essentials you need Track what you currently have Identify what needs to be replaced or restocked Create a simple plan to access these items Check in weekly on what’s working 4. CONNECTION (People & Community) Start small conversations (no pressure) Focus on listening, not just explaining Build trust slowly over time Keep interactions natural, not transactional Note who feels safe and supportive 5. The Six Phases of Light: How I Approach Advocacy, Relationships, and Integrity

INTRO (on camera) “Today I want to walk you through something I call the Six Phases of Light. This is the framework I use to approach advocacy, relationships, and creative work in a way that stays grounded, respectful, and sustainable over time.” PART 1: THE FOUNDATION “This starts with three core goals.” “First, the primary goal is access to hygiene resources and raising awareness through a petition.” “Second, the secondary goal is relationship-building—real connections through things like conversation, music, and media.” “And third, the internal goal is re-establishing a sense of warmth and normalcy. Not everything has to feel heavy or transactional.” PART 2: THE RULES “To protect that foundation, I follow a few clear rules.” “Never bundle asks. One clear purpose at a time.” “Music and social media are not leverage—they’re just pathways for connection.” “The petition stands on its own integrity. It doesn’t need to be attached to anything else to matter.” “That means no mixing convers...

✅Apartment Scripts

Hi everyone welcome back. Today i want to show you something that will make you think twice. Qualifying For An Income-based Apartment These apartments require proof of income to make sure rent is affordable (pay stubs, tax returns, or benefits letters) and there is a maximum income limit for eligibility. Mandatory Inspections My apartment requires inspections for safety. (smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and general apartment condition). They do however make sure to make notice before entering for inspections. Pest Control Routine pest control is going to start this summer but you can also call and request it. You should report any bugs or rodents right away. Maintenance I normally report any issues right away especially with appliances or plumbing and keep a record of the requests and repairs just in case. Lease Renewal Make sure you know MM/DD/YY your lease ends and MM/DD/YY you are required to submit paperwork. When going over the lease to note any minor changes in rules ...

The Real Stats

THE REAL APPROVAL / SUCCESS NUMBERS Getting a voucher does not mean getting housing Only about 30–32% of applicants actually get placed after applying in some programs (Albuquerque Housing Authority) Meaning most people do not even make it through the system. Even with a voucher, it is not guarantee About 60%–70% of people successfully find a unit before their voucher expires (HUD User) So 3–4 out of 10 people still fail even after approval. Your location changes everything Success rates range from about 60% in tight housing markets up to about 80% in easier markets (HUD User) Translation: the same person can get approved in one city and completely fail in another. Some areas are far more competitive than people think Example: 150,000 people applied in 12 hours for a waitlist in NYC (reddit.com) You are not just applying—you are competing. Local programs vary widely Some housing agencies are as low as 37% success rate while others are close to 100% (HUD User) It is not just you—it is t...

Be Your Own Best Lawyer

Because no one in charge stepped in. Teachers noticed. Doctors hesitated. Systems delayed. So Jane became the adult: managing crises, protecting her sister, absorbing the chaos. Doctors and police were told by her mother that she had bipolar disorder, was not sleeping, and was not taking medication consistently. Based on that, the system treated her reports as part of a mental health crisis, not as real danger. But here is the part people skip. After months of review, the court dropped the custody order. The accusations did not hold up. That means the story used to justify taking her child away was not proven. That matters if you care about facts. What people assume, and why that is lazy thinking. The lazy version of this story goes like this. She had a breakdown. She made things up. End of story. That conclusion only works if you ignore everything. When you look earlier, you do not see a sudden snap. You see years of smaller warning signs. She raised concerns. She tried to set boundar...

Jane Doe in Health Crisis

Jane Doe went to a health clinic on February 4, 2026, for low back pain. X-rays showed her neck is a little straighter than normal, and she has a mild curve in her spine. The curve is shaped like a “C,” bends to the right, and measures 14 degrees. She has joint pain linked to this condition and is taking the medicines her doctor recommended. She has also been diagnosed with otosclerosis, a genetic condition where extra bone grows in the middle ear. This can affect hearing over time. A recent blood test showed a positive ANA result. This test can point to an autoimmune issue, but it is not specific. A “speckled” pattern like hers can be seen in conditions such as lupus, Sjögren’s syndrome, or mixed connective tissue disease. Right now, there is no single diagnosis that clearly connects all of these health issues. Jane Doe was recently seen at a church community center, where people have been asking about her role and involvement. This comes during a lupus flare. At a recent meeting, she...

What To Expect At The Doctor

What to expect at the Family Doctor they start with the basics and ask questions about what’s been going on with your body lately. sometimes it feels simple, but this is where the quiet clues about bigger problems often first show up. Urologist this doctor focuses on the bladder, kidneys, and bathroom problems people don’t love talking about. expect some direct questions and maybe tests that get straight to the point. Rheumatologist they look for hidden causes of pain, swelling, and strange body symptoms that don’t always show up clearly at first. these visits can feel like solving a slow mystery about the immune system. Audiologist this visit is about hearing and balance, and they run sound tests that seem simple but can reveal a lot. sometimes the results explain things you didn’t even realize were connected. Surgeons a, b, c facility, doct., results, when: meeting surgeons is mostly about them studying the problem and deciding if cutting or fixing something would actually help. ever...

Internal Goal Re-establish warmth and normalcy. Rules Never bundle asks. One clear purpose at a time. Music + social media are funnels, not leverage. The petition stands on its own integrity. No “support my petition” inside music convos. No church tagging tied to activism unless invited. When comment on the music or the live stream. No petition. No products. No scarcity talk. Not transactional. No we’ve supported you, please support us. No assuming access. No bundling shampoo petition band in one convo. No implying moral obligation. No using music as leverage. Anchor If he feels like a conduit instead of a friend, everything collapses. curious, grounded, human.. Hygiene This comes first, and it stays small. Frame it as information, not a request. Being yourself is intense!!

“Said I would but you just hit me w/ the next beat” “beat” = moment / rhythm / emotional hit Meaning Things Are Moving Too Fast.  I didn’t have time to process before the next moment hit.  I’m being pushed forward before I’m ready “I said I would, but everything is happening so fast— before I can even think, I’m already in the next moment.” Like finally being yourself is beautiful but intense.

Song Lyrics + Meaning

This was written from the perspective of a woman going on their first date as a lesbian feeling pressure from family and friends to go ahead and do it, the social anxiety from simply being out, and realizing you can finally be you. But that means the way you see reality may be glaring at times. Song lyrics So you can call your mother fucker I can call you later Said I would but you just hit me w/ the next beat Then I'll repeat all the probabilities But I'll be somewhere held up and I can't see Cause I'm blinded by the light that you've been shining.

Confusion with Lupus

What “confusion” can feel like It’s often described as: “Brain fog” Trouble concentrating Forgetting things easily Feeling disoriented or slow thinking Difficulty finding words Feeling mentally “out of it” Why lupus causes this Lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) is an autoimmune disease, meaning the immune system attacks the body—including sometimes the brain. During a  flare , inflammation can affect the nervous system in a few ways: Inflammation in the brain The immune system can cause swelling or irritation in brain tissue This affects thinking, memory, and focus Blood flow changes Lupus can affect blood vessels, which may reduce oxygen to parts of the brain Fatigue overload Severe fatigue during flares can make your brain feel “offline” Medications Some treatments (like steroids) can also cause mood or thinking changes When confusion is more serious Sometimes it’s mild “brain fog,” but it can also be more serious symptoms like: Sudden severe confusion Hallucinations Extreme m...

Emotions Game PDF

Email me for the full Jaemis Emotions Game PDF including the jars, pre-filled slips, activity sheet, and reflection page—ready to print and use with your child.

Jaemi Emotions Game

This is a two-part, hands-on emotional regulation game : first you separate what your child can’t control from what can be influenced or managed , then move to constructive coping strategies. This game makes emotional learning  tangible , visual, and interactive , and separates frustration from actionable coping. It’s also perfect for kids who tend to default to “I’m happy” or hide feelings—they see that negative emotions are normal, but there’s always a safe way to respond. Objective Help children recognize what they cannot control (emotions, triggers, situations) and focus on what they can control (coping strategies, reframing, and calming techniques). Materials Needed Two jars or containers Cards or slips of paper Pens or markers Optional: activity sheet for “What helps me feel better” and “Another way to look at it” Step 1: Prepare the Jars Label the first jar “ Things I Can’t Control ” and the second jar “ Things I Can Control ” . Step 2: Fill the “Things I Can’t Control”...

New Activity Concept - Regulating Emotions

Okay so the game is you put all of the "how I feel today" "what happened" and "why I feel this way" in a jar to signify things you can't control. And then from that match up like "frustrated I lost my toy because I worked hard and it got ruined" then you go to an activity sheet where the focus is on what you can control: "What helps me feel better" and "what is another way to look at it"

Regulating Emotions Explained

Problem Emotion regulation is a well‑studied psychological construct. It shows that by regulating emotions instead of hiding them, people experience healthier social functioning. That means that suppressing or bottling up emotions is generally considered a less adaptive approach than  Solution Naming an emotion by putting it into words has been shown to reduce its intensity by activating brain regions involved in reasoning and control. Research on emotional regulation emphasizes awareness of feelings and what causes them, which is central to many therapeutic models like CBT. Acknowledging that a feeling makes sense without judgment—is a core part of emotional awareness techniques and helps reduce shame or avoidance. Changing how we think about a situation can alter emotional responses. This strategy is widely used in cognitive‑behavioral therapy and supported by research.

The Start of The Regulation Maven

How I Feel Today Happy Excited Sad Angry Frustrated Confused Nervous Lonely Proud Disappointed What Happened I lost my favorite toy. A friend didn’t want to play. I got in trouble at school. Someone took my snack. I spilled my drink. I couldn’t finish a game level. I had a disagreement with a sibling. I felt left out of a group activity. My pet did something unexpected. I had to stop playing to do chores. Why I Feel This Way I wanted to keep my toy. I was looking forward to playing. I felt like I did something wrong. I was hungry or wanted the snack. I worked hard and it got ruined. I felt like I failed. I didn’t like arguing with someone I care about. I wanted to be included. I was surprised or scared. I wanted more free time. What Helps Me Feel Better Take a deep breath. Draw a picture. Talk to someone I trust. Hug a stuffed animal or pet. Listen to music. Take a short walk or run in place. Play a different game. Use a stress ball or fidget toy. Count to 10 slowly. Write or dictate h...

Emotional Regulation

Problem Emotion regulation is a well‑studied psychological construct that highlights the importance of managing emotions rather than ignoring or suppressing them. Research shows that people who regulate their emotions effectively tend to experience healthier social functioning. In contrast, suppressing or bottling up emotions is generally considered a less adaptive approach, as it can increase stress and reduce overall well-being. Solution One of the most effective strategies is naming the emotion . Simply putting a feeling into words has been shown to reduce its intensity by activating brain regions involved in reasoning and control. This step helps create awareness and gives the individual a sense of clarity about what they are experiencing. Building on that, research emphasizes the importance of understanding the triggers behind emotions. Being aware of what causes a feeling is central to many therapeutic models, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). This awareness allows ...

The puzzles and the spooky vibes really keep you on your toes. I love games that give you that mix of challenge and suspense. Of course, I can’t skip Mario. Classic platforming never gets old. Period Tracker Routine: How I Keep Track of My Cycle and Symptoms

Keeping track of your period can help you understand your body better. Today, I’m showing a simple way to track your cycle, symptoms, and mood so you can be ready for your period and feel in control. We start with the basic cycle. First, note the first day of your last period. Then, write down how long your period usually lasts and how long your whole cycle is. This helps you see patterns over time. You can also note the age you first got your period if you want, but that’s optional. Next, check if you are using birth control. If you aren’t, or if you stopped using it, just make a note of that. This helps you track your body naturally. Then, think about your reproductive goals. Are you trying to get pregnant, avoiding pregnancy, or just tracking your health? Writing this down helps you understand what your body is doing and why you are tracking. Now it’s time to track your flow. Are you spotting, light, medium, or heavy? This helps you notice changes in your cycle. Pay attention to pai...

Spring Bucket List: Fun and Creative Ways to Celebrate the Season

Spring is the perfect time to slow down, enjoy nature, and try new things. Today, I’m sharing my spring bucket list, full of simple activities that bring creativity, joy, and a little adventure into everyday life. To start, I want to capture the beauty of the season by taking a picture of flowers beginning to bloom. It’s a simple reminder that new beginnings are all around us. Next, I plan to plant some herbs in a small pot. Taking a picture of this process lets me document the growth and care that goes into nurturing something from seed to sprout. Spring is also a great time for decluttering and giving back. I’ll take a video while tossing or donating old clothes, sharing the joy of letting go and making space for something new. For a little fun and indulgence, I’ll try a new ice cream flavor and capture it on video. It’s a playful way to embrace curiosity and treat myself. If possible, I’ll visit a nearby pond to take a picture of ducks. Observing wildlife is a calming and grounding ...

Nighttime Routine: How I Wind Down and Prepare for Tomorrow

Have you ever wondered how to end your day in a way that’s both relaxing and productive? Tonight, I’m sharing my full evening routine, from dinner to lights out, so you can see how I balance self-care, family time, and preparation for the next day. To start the evening, I sit down for dinner. Eating a wholesome meal gives me energy and marks the transition from the busy day to a calmer evening. After dinner, I clean up the kitchen and tidy the space around me. This simple step helps me feel organized and clears my mind for the rest of the night. Next, I take a shower. This is my time to refresh and relax, washing away the stress of the day. Once I’m clean, I change into pajamas, which signals to my body that it’s time to wind down. Then, I organize the laundry and make sure everything is in order. This small task keeps my space functional and my mornings smoother. Sometimes I enjoy a light snack afterward, giving me a little comfort and indulgence before settling into the quieter parts...

Professional Workflow Routine: How I Plan, Create, and Post Content Efficiently

Have you ever wondered how a professional content creator or digital workflow manager structures their day to stay productive and creative? Today, I’m going to take you through my entire workflow, from reviewing metrics to publishing content. To begin the day, I focus on performance. This involves reviewing metrics and analytics, tracking performance quality, and adjusting strategies based on the data. By doing this first, I can understand what’s working, what isn’t, and where I need to pivot for better results. Some visual ideas for this step include graphs, analytics dashboards, and charts, along with quick notes highlighting adjustments. Moving into the middle of the day, I take time for lunch, but it’s not just about eating. I use this time to decompress, give my ears a break, let my brain reset, and even do a bit of creative cleaning. This downtime is essential because it clears mental clutter and prepares me for more focused brainstorming later. For example, you might show a lunc...
