Complaint Regarding CPS – Patrick County, Piedmont Sector

Dear Ombudsman,

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding CPS in Patrick County, Virginia, in the Piedmont Sector.

CPS continues to be directly involved, supervising in‑person visitation, despite my case being in appeal status. Additionally, CPS confirmed that my case records were ready, but I have not received them. My attempts to follow up have been met with a lack of response.

I have attached all relevant documents and a timeline of my attempts to obtain the records and schedule visits for your review.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I would appreciate any guidance or action your office can provide regarding this matter.

In State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2025, which ended June 30, 2025, the Office of the Children's Ombudsman (OCO) in Virginia received 466 complaints regarding the conduct of local departments of social services.  While this number reflects formal complaints rather than a general sentiment of "unfairness," it is the primary metric for tracked dissatisfaction.
