The Start of The Regulation Maven

How I Feel Today
Happy
Excited
Sad
Angry
Frustrated
Confused
Nervous
Lonely
Proud
Disappointed

What Happened
I lost my favorite toy.
A friend didn’t want to play.
I got in trouble at school.
Someone took my snack.
I spilled my drink.
I couldn’t finish a game level.
I had a disagreement with a sibling.
I felt left out of a group activity.
My pet did something unexpected.
I had to stop playing to do chores.

Why I Feel This Way
I wanted to keep my toy.
I was looking forward to playing.
I felt like I did something wrong.
I was hungry or wanted the snack.
I worked hard and it got ruined.
I felt like I failed.
I didn’t like arguing with someone I care about.
I wanted to be included.
I was surprised or scared.
I wanted more free time.

What Helps Me Feel Better
Take a deep breath.
Draw a picture.
Talk to someone I trust.
Hug a stuffed animal or pet.
Listen to music.
Take a short walk or run in place.
Play a different game.
Use a stress ball or fidget toy.
Count to 10 slowly.
Write or dictate how I feel.

Another Way to Look at It
I can share my toy next time and play together.
I can invite a different friend to play.
Everyone makes mistakes, and I can try again.
I can ask for my snack back politely.
I can clean it up and start again.
I can ask for help to beat the level.
I can apologize and make up with my sibling.
I can play with someone else or have fun alone.
I can laugh and see it as a funny surprise.
I can finish chores faster and play afterward.
