Cease & Desist Elevator Pitch

Right now, if someone is being harassed, controlled, or emotionally or financially abused, their options are limited—they either do nothing or try to jump straight to a restraining order.

But there’s a gap in between.

We should be giving people access to a simple, supported cease and desist–style notice—something that lets them clearly set boundaries, document harm, and create a record before things escalate.

It’s not about confrontation—it’s about early intervention, accountability, and giving people a voice sooner.

Stronger protection shouldn’t start at crisis—it should start earlier.
