A Step Toward Justice and the Fight for Home
To every supporter of the Jane Doe Files:
This journey has been one of grueling silence and hard-won progress. Right now, our path to justice rests on a single threshold: an official residence approval. Two lawyers have been contacted to walk through the home—a vital condition to finally move from supervised visits to the unsupervised time a mother and child deserve.
Currently, out of three weekly visits, only one is in person. The silence from the legal teams on these updates is heavy, but we are not waiting quietly. We have sent formal requests for clarity, and we are pushing for every second of face-to-face connection possible.
Turning Pain into Purpose
While we fight the legal battle, we are also fighting to change the system for every child caught in it. Last week, we proposed MyHomeJourney, a new interactive app designed to guide children through the foster and reunification process. It’s built to give them a voice and a checklist, ensuring they know exactly how the system is supposed to work for them.

The Road Ahead
The road isn't without its bumps. Despite the original case being closed, we are officially in the appeals process. Even simple logistics—like the return of vital case files due to mailing errors—have forced us to coordinate in-person exchanges with CPS.

But the momentum is growing. This month, we are taking our petition to the heart of the community, announcing our mission to a new Christ-Centered Recovery Group in Virginia and placing flyers at local resource hubs.
We are demanding accountability not just for one family, but for a system that often loses sight of the human hearts at its center.
