Insurance
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to follow up on my previously submitted Good Cause Request to transfer from Aetna Better Health of Virginia to Sentara Health Plans.
This request is based on ongoing and repeated failures with transportation services provided through Aetna Better Health of Virginia. These failures are not occasional—they are consistent and have directly impacted my ability to access medically necessary care.
Specifically:
Transportation calls frequently go unanswered
Scheduled rides do not arrive
I have experienced delays and disruptions that interfere with attending medical appointments
These issues have also affected my ability to obtain groceries and meet basic needs
Because I rely heavily on transportation due to my medical situation, these failures are not minor inconveniences—they are barriers to essential care and daily living.
I want to be clear that I am continuing to cooperate fully with all requirements. However, there is a significant difference between being cooperative and being expected to tolerate a system that is not functioning.
Under Medicaid managed care requirements, members must have reliable access to covered services, including non-emergency medical transportation. At this time, that standard is not being met.
For this reason, I am respectfully requesting that my Good Cause transfer be reviewed as urgent, approved without delay, and processed as necessary to ensure uninterrupted access to care.
If needed, I am prepared to provide specific dates, missed rides, and additional documentation of these ongoing issues.
Please confirm receipt of this request and provide an update on the status of my Good Cause review.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
