CPS Responsibility
Child Protective Services, or CPS, is supposed to investigate child abuse or neglect and make sure children are safe.
They are responsible for checking on the child, communicating with parents, and making sure proper steps are followed.
What Happened
A CPS worker came to my home for a couple of days. They took my child. After that, they stopped communicating.
They did not return my calls.
They did not respond to my emails.
This went on for months, up to a year.
Lack of Follow-Up
There were no home che to make sure my daughter was sate.
There was no clear investigation to confirm or deny any claims.
There was no update, no explanation, and no support.

Why This Is a Problem
CPS is required to investigate and ensure a child's safety. In this case, those responsibilities were not carried out. Ignoring communication and failing to follow up creates serious risk.
Policy Concern
Under Virginia policy, this kind of failure can be considered serious misconduct. A Group III offense means a major failure to perform duties. Is the highest level of viaction and can lead to termination.
Closing
This situation raises serious concerns about accountability. A system meant to protect children did not respond when it was supposed to. And when there is no re: ponse, safety cannot be guaranteed.
